“I love colour. Colour is endless.  Colour is everywhere.

It is what drives my creative process.  I am an eternal optimist who creates paintings to convey a sense of whimsy, joy and fun. I find that primitivism and abstraction, each combined with bold, beautiful colour allows me to create a small piece of happiness.

My trademark, red under painting brings the paints to life.  While my artistic growth takes me in many directions- the red under painting always stays the same.  It just has to be there….

Pushing the boundaries leads me to paint “against the grain”- to go against my formal training and those rules that apply. I rarely make a preliminary sketch - I often purposefully paint in fine details to challenge myself to paint the larger spaces (carefully!) after.
