“I am a textile artist and crafty creator... Drawing With Stitches is my way of combining two of my loves – drawing and sewing – by using the stitch as another form of mark making, and (when they are not just pure stitch on white cotton) textiles as the palette.
After years of using both disciplines separately, and trying to appease all the creative urges by switching between the two, often leaving the drawing side unsatisfied by being merely a starting point in the creative process, I fell into combining the two by accident. I began to sew into my drawings to try and satisfy the urge for stitch... which, moved onto sewing into the drawings on the machine, and eventually sewing the drawings completely as the final mark with the machine.”
